An eligible applicant is any applicant that is enrolled, or will be enrolled, in an accredited Licensed Veterinary Technician ("LVT") program that grants a diploma or degree in veterinary technology, and such program is at least 18 months, or two academic years, in duration. An accredited program must be accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education, and/or registered by the New York State Education Department as a licensure qualifying program.
Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.

Applicants must remain enrolled in an accredited program throughout the term of the scholarship and must demonstrate continuing progress towards a LVT diploma or degree.
Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
Upon graduation applicants must pass the Veterinary Technician National Examination and obtain licensure as a Veterinary Technician from the New York State Education Department.
Applicants must pursue employment in a facility providing urgent or emergency care with extended hours in the Central New York Region (Onondaga County and any bordering counties) and hold such position for a period of one year.
Applicants will not be required to repay funds if the emergency facility where they are employed closes or ceases to provide veterinary emergency care.

Veterinary Technician Tuition Reimbursement Grant Eligibility Criteria

Applicants have successfully completed an accredited Licensed Veterinary Technician ("LVT") within the last two years. An accredited program must be accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education, and/or registered by the New York State Education Department as a licensure qualifying program.
Applicants must hold a valid license as a Veterinary Technician from the New York State Education Department.
Applicants must be pursuing employment in a facility providing urgent or emergency care with extended hours in the CNY Region (Onondaga County and any bordering counties) and hold such a position for one year.
Applicants will not be required to repay funds if the emergency facility where they are employed closes or ceases to provide veterinary emergency care.
